FAQs

Common questions

Is this sprint right for me?

You're an established B2B tech company, and AI has made it harder to win. You're losing deals to AI-native rivals, buyers think they could build it themselves, or sales discounts to close.

Quick test: ask one person each from sales, marketing and product to answer 4 questions:

  1. What is your product?
  2. Who is it for?
  3. What does it replace?
  4. Why are you better than AI-native rivals?

If their answers don't match, your current positioning isn't working.

Why not just use AI to do this?

Most companies have bad positioning. AI is trained on their website, so you get average positioning, which is the same as your rivals, who are also asking AI.

Good positioning requires curiosity, taste and judgement, which AI still lacks (for now). I've spent the last 6 years focused on one thing: positioning tech companies to win.

What are the outcomes of the sprint?

The most immediate outcomes are alignment and clarity:

  1. Internal alignment: your GTM teams, and the AI tools they use, are all pulling from the same context. So everyone knows what to do to win in the AI era, and you're all moving in the same direction. It feels like you have the wind at your back.
  2. External clarity: your best-fit customers immediately understand what your product is, its value, and why you're better than AI-native rivals or building it themselves.

From there, the more tangible outcomes follow: higher conversions, shorter sales cycles, lower churn and more market share.

What's a context layer?

Your positioning, kept in one place your team and AI tools both read from. When a rep preps a call or an AI tool drafts an email, they start from the same answer, not an old slide deck.

What does it cost?

The sprint is £25k, which covers your company positioning plus 2 products or use cases. Each additional product or use case costs £5k.

Advisory starts at £5k a month. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

What pre-work is needed before we start?
  1. Choose your positioning team: the 3 people who will take part in the sprint, usually the CEO, a GTM leader and the Head of Product.
  2. Give access to internal systems: after we sign the contract and NDA, share access to Slack, Notion, Google Drive and the AI tools your team uses, like ChatGPT or Claude, so I can connect the context layer to them.
  3. Share materials: sales recordings across the full funnel, existing positioning or strategy docs, industry research (white papers, articles, market reports), product demos, customer lists, product roadmap, and sales materials such as pitch decks, one-pagers, email templates, discovery call flows and objection-handling docs, plus any prompts, custom GPTs or AI agents your team already uses.
  4. Schedule customer interviews: arrange 3 x 30-minute calls with existing customers. It works best to tell them a new consultant is joining to support marketing, and ask if they can spare 30 minutes to share their experience of your product.
How much of our time will the sprint take?

Each person on the positioning team should plan for 3 hours a week during Positioning (weeks 1-4).

During Implementation (weeks 5-6), plan for 2 more hours of async work to review and give feedback on the website wireframes and sales deck.

Can we keep working together after the sprint?

I support a limited number of clients after the sprint. I stay on as an adviser, tracking what customers, deals and rivals are saying, and updating your positioning and context layer as the market moves. Cancel anytime with 30 days' notice.

What do we cover in the intro call?

We'll start by getting to know each other. I'll ask about your challenges, then walk you through a 10-minute deck with my feedback on your current positioning, based on your website.
